Mt. Katsuragi Paragliding Site

Mt. Katsuragi (or Yamato-Katsuragi) is located between Osaka and Nara.

To Fly this site, you need to get a permission from the contact.

Flying without a permission is prohibited and may result in the site closure.

Flying Season Year round, In May, you are not allowed to carry your equipment in the ropeway due to heavy traffic. The ropeway will not be operated temporarily in June due to maintenance check.

Access LD∼TO LD to ropeway by car, ropeway to TO on foot. Gliders can be carried by small shuttle at JY100. Opens on weekend, please let us know in advance for flight on weekdays.
Cross Country Flight Pilots having a JHF-XC rating, subject to permission by the president of Sky Ranger Kansai
Place of Interest Azalea of Mt. Katsuragi (flight is not allowed during Azalea blossom season), lodging at Katsuragisan Lodge, hot spring at Kamokimi-no-yu spa at JPY 600, supermarket and convenience store near the landing field.
Others The site has good access for pilots in Nara and Osaka. Visitors in a group of two or more persons are most welcome.
